Connect your Reolink cameras and NVRs to AgenticEye using RTSP, ONVIF, or FTP snapshot upload. Covers the RLC-810A, RLC-520A, and RLN series NVRs with step-by-step instructions and configuration examples.
Reolink cameras support RTSP and ONVIF for local network integration, plus FTP for snapshot-based monitoring. Note that RTSP and ONVIF may require specific firmware versions on some models.
H.264/H.265 real-time streaming on port 554. Requires firmware support (most 2021+ models).
Stream-profile negotiation via ONVIF on port 8000 (non-standard). Requires enabling in settings.
Scheduled or motion-triggered JPEG snapshots uploaded to AgenticEye's ingest FTP endpoint.
Optional cloud-based connection for cameras behind NAT without port forwarding. Requires Reolink cloud account.
Your Reolink camera must be connected via Ethernet or WiFi and reachable from the AgenticEye agent. Use the Reolink app for initial setup.
You need the camera's admin password (set during initial app-based setup). The default username is admin.
RTSP support requires newer firmware on many Reolink models. Update to the latest firmware via the Reolink app or web interface.
An active AgenticEye account with available camera slots. FTP credentials are generated in the dashboard.

[channel] is 01. For RLN series NVRs, channel numbers correspond to camera ports (e.g., 01 through 16 for a 16-channel NVR). Despite the URL path containing "h264", H.265 streams also use this same path format.

RTSP must be explicitly enabled on Reolink cameras. Access the camera's web interface or use the Reolink desktop client.

Reolink uses a non-standard ONVIF port (8000 instead of the typical 80). This must be enabled separately from RTSP.

Optimize the video stream for AgenticEye's AI processing.
Resolution: 3840x2160 (4K) or 2560x1440 (2K)
Frame Rate: 15 fps (recommended for AI processing)
Bitrate: 4096-8192 Kbps
Encoding: H.264 (recommended for compatibility)
I-Frame Interval: 2x frame rate (e.g., 30 for 15fps)
Resolution: 640x480 or 896x512
Frame Rate: 10 fps
Bitrate: 512-1024 Kbps
Encoding: H.264
Register the Reolink camera in the AgenticEye OS with the RTSP URL.

Click Save, then press 🧪 Test event on the camera card — it turns Online when the first detection arrives.
Configure FTP to send motion-triggered or scheduled snapshots to AgenticEye. This is particularly useful for battery-powered Reolink cameras that do not support RTSP.
FTP Server: ingest.agenticeye.com
Port: 21
Remote Directory: /cameras/reolink-backyard-01/
Mode: Passive
# For continuous monitoring without motion triggers:
# Use the Reolink app → Device Settings → Surveillance
# → Schedule → FTP Upload
# Set to "All Day" with snapshot interval of 5-10 seconds
Schedule Type: All Day
Upload Content: Snapshot
Interval: 5 seconds
For Reolink RLN series NVRs (RLN8-410, RLN16-410, etc.), connect individual camera channels through the NVR's RTSP endpoint.

Add each channel as a separate camera in AgenticEye. The NVR's admin credentials apply to all channels. Channel numbering starts at 01 and corresponds to the PoE port on the NVR.
For cameras behind NAT without port forwarding capability, Reolink's cloud API is an alternative path: the edge box is linked to the Reolink account and pulls the streams from the cloud.
The edge box cannot reach the Reolink camera over ONVIF, even though ONVIF is enabled.

For dual-lens models (e.g., Reolink Duo), the RTSP stream shows only one lens or a stitched view.
01 for the first lens and channel 02 for the second: rtsp://admin:pass@ip:554/h264Preview_01_main and rtsp://admin:pass@ip:554/h264Preview_02_main. Add each lens as a separate camera in AgenticEye for independent AI analysis. In the AgenticEye OS, open Cameras → + Add camera, enter the stream address above, pick the barn and tick the capabilities the camera should provide (counting, weighing, mortality, behavior). The OS assigns the camera a source key. The AgenticEye edge box on the farm network reads the stream and pushes every detection to the OS with that key — so each camera card shows a live heartbeat, its last detection, 24h/7d counts and its calibration against the scale. Press 🧪 Test event on the card to confirm the path end to end; a camera silent for 6 hours raises an alert.
